My 21st Century Classroom

I came up with a classroom where the students are centered in the middle, with most utilities and areas
to relax or go on the computers to the sides and back of the classroom. I did this because If the students
need to go relax or take a few seconds to themselves for any particular reason they can with out being a
distraction to the other students. I made the students in pairs and in rows so that each student can have a partner
for group work, and it will be easy to move about the classroom. I Put my desk off to the side so and
assessable from every side so that the students don't feel as if they can't come and talk to me or so that
the students aren't afraid of me. I also had the whole room carpeted so that the room has a more
comfortable feel to it for the students. Each computer desk on the sides of the classroom Will have a
beanbag chair to sit on and work. It will be more comfortable and the students will want to sit there and
work. There will also be chairs there so if students misbehave or act up they will sit in chairs. The room
is also easy for students in wheelchairs to get around to they can work at the computers and the desks
easily because all chairs can move around. Each student will have their own iPad that will be connected
to the school internet and home page. They will be able to connect and interact with the smart board and
projector located in the front of the classroom so that all students will be able to see what is going on in
the classroom. The classroom will be painted blue since studies show that it is a relaxing and calming
color and the carpets will be orange since that color is suppose to stimulate the mind and thinking
ability. This youtube video gives a good background on a 21st century classroom
I believe that it is important to make sure that all students and teachers are connected and updated with
technology. As an individual I will make sure I stay connected with the new and growing technology
I will make sure I communicate with other teachers on twitter and interactive websites and always looking
for new and better things to help students learn. I will make sure all of my students stay connected with
technology using twitter and Google and other resources by including them in their every day work.
I will also make sure the students parents stay connected by having them participate in parent teacher
meeting through email and twitter conversations. Each of my links is where I found all of my information
and why I organized my classroom the way I did. I Believe that by looking at all the different websites and
teachers advice on twitter that this is the best way for kids to learn and feel comfortable in the classroom
And that all classes should be set up like this with all the different technology for students with disabilities
and the average student, it will make the classroom more fun and students will want to learn.
